Mesotherapy
What is a facial Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?
As we age, we notice many changes in our bodies. Many obvious changes take place in our skin when we age, a noticeable change. Do you have wrinkles and facial lines that you want to get rid of without surgery?
A vampire facial or a protein-enriched facial (PRP) may help to reduce or even prevent your wrinkles It stimulates collagen production and, through micro-needling, improves skin tone and texture.
PRP contains a high percentage of platelets (PRP). Allowing the formation and release of growth factors and active proteins that promote healing. It is widely used on the face.
How does PRP facial treatment work?
There are different ways to get a PRP facial treatment.
The first option, the plasma is distributed over your face, and then micro-needling across the forehead and cheeks helps the face absorb the proteins. Both microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) stimulate collagen growth.
Second option is having the plasma injected into the skin like mesotherapy. It injected deep into your skin (dermis). In dermis layer is your skin creates collagen and elastin.
Third option is to combine PRP injections with microneedling. It is used with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) extracted to distribute it to the epidermis (the upper layer of the skin). This works well because it uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to target both the dermis with PRP injections and the epidermis with microneedling.
One study revealed that participants who received platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections in one cheek and saline in the other saw improvements in the PRP-injected cheeks.
How does PRP facial work?
When the platelet-rich plasma injected directly into the middle layer of the skin (your dermis) into the target tissues, the proteins and growth factors in the PRP will improve collagen growth, repair, and cell renewal. This will outcome to improve skin texture, skin tone and elasticity. The procedure of PRP injections treatment will cause inflammation in the skin, thereby, also cause the body to react and boost the area with more collagen.
Process steps:
Extracted blood from your arm.
Spun in a centrifuge (separation of the PRP (platelet-rich-plasma from rest of your blood).
PRP extracted and injected/microneedling or applied in combination with microneedling into your skin.
How many treatments do I need?
Three treatments are recommended. And for the best results, is suggests taking the treatments between 4-6 weeks apart.
The PRP treatment expecting and process.
You should prepare in advance by avoiding certain things:
- Alcohol
- Caffeine
- Anti-inflammatory
At least 3 days before.
Combining microneedling with injections this is like more intense, it helps to target both the top and middle layers of skin. Thereby you most likely want at least 2-3 days of recovery before attending your business. But do not hesitate, as the results worth it.
Firstly, when you are attending, numbing cream will be applied to the area of concern, in about 40 min. afterwards, numbing cream will be removed, and disinfected your skin. And depends which kind of treatment of your choice:
- Micro-needling: The plasma is distributed over your face, and then micro-needling.
- Injection: The plasma injected into the skin like mesotherapy
- Combination injections with microneedling: Start to fill syringes with platelet-rich and directly injected to the area of concern. And plasma (PRP) extracted to distribute it to the epidermis (the upper layer of the skin) using the microneedling technique.
You go home with the plasma left on your skin. don’t touch your skin or wash it until next morning, or after 8 hours. And when you wash it, this should be with a gentle cleanser. The entire treatment from start to finish took about one hour.
Be aware: That all plasma under your skin means your face will looks puffy, redness caused by plasma microneedling, this will sit for next two hours and significant swelling. What I will do to reduce the swelling a tiny, is adding PRP face mask in about 15 min. This will cost extra 10 £.
Recommendations: Try to schedule your appointment for late afternoon or evening. Which means that you don’t have to worry if you will attend any occasions or even applying SPF or anything on your skin.
PRP facial aftercare: Your skin will feel light and will still look swollen after washing off plasma. Around 48-72 hours swelling will gradually fully go down. Your skin will feel itchy (don’t ich it or remove any peel let it fall off by itself). you will also feel it tight and dry. Be extra gentle with your skin after the treatment. Avoid any active ingredients that can make your skin more irritated, which mean retinal, any kind of acid – glycolic, lactic, salicylic, kojic – and even vitamin C. Glycerin, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, Manuka honey, restorative ceramides, skin-building peptides, and gentle, hydrating oils like jojoba and squalane is great for PRP post-treatment.
