What is PRP hair treatment?
PRP with biotin for hair loss is a treatment that involves injecting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) mixed with biotin into the scalp to stimulate hair growth. PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood and contains growth factors
that promote healing and regeneration. Biotin is a vitamin that supports the production of keratin, a protein essential for healthy hair and skin. The combination of PRP and biotin can help improve blood circulation, nourish hair follicles, and increase hair thickness and strength.
How many PRP sessions do you need for hair loss?
For a complete course of treatment, six sessions are needed, if the hair loss is extreme.
The first three sessions are separated by one month, followed by 3 more sessions once every three months after that.
Maintenance treatments once or twice a year if necessary. The results of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment appear in the first 3-4 weeks.
However, as part of the complete treatment process, after the initial rounds of treatment, once hair begins to grow, patients need to attend additional follow-up sessions once every 4-6 months to ensure a successful outcome.
This is done to enhance the effects of the treatment and ensure a successful outcome. The sessions required and expected results will vary from person to person. This will be discussed at your assessment and during your initial consultation at each session.
Is PRP treatment for hair loss suitable for everyone?
In general, PRP treatment is best for people with thinning hair or mild to moderate hair loss, as it may not be as effective for those with advanced baldness.
People with underlying medical conditions, such as some autoimmune diseases, may not be suitable candidates for treatment with PRP. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are also advised against PRP treatment. However, men and women suffering from all form of alopecia can benefit from PRP treatment. It will also work on patents who do not respond to hair growth pills and various treatments. Candidates who have had or will have hair transplant can benefits for PRP treatment.
